WHY WE ♥ THE MALDIVES:

Aruba, known as One Happy Island, is a very special place to us. It was our pandemic honeymoon 🥰🫶🏽. We got married in October of 2020 and I wasn’t going to let COVID stop our honeymoon dreams ✨ Our plan was to fly direct, no more than five hours, and not go on any tours with other people. My fiancé turned husband actually planned the trip and I couldn’t be any more thrilled. He rented us a jeep and the island was easily explorable without a guide. It truly is One Happy Island. The people are very nice, the food is delicious and the views/scenery are amazing!

A Candid Cost Calculation:

Accommodation – We stayed at the Ritz Carlton Aruba for our honeymoon. Big resort feel but the Ritz is always beautiful.

Food – The food was great! Yemanja Woodfired Grill in Downtown Oranjestad and the The West Deck Island Grill & Beach Bar were our favorite dinner spots. We mainly ate breakfast and lunch at the hotel.

Transportation – Renting a car is the best way to get around the island! You can always do a tour but we really enjoyed figuring things out on our own for once. My favorite thing was the directions – turn left at “big tree” or make a left a “huge rock” 🤣

Best of the Best – Even after all the fun exploring, the best of the best was on the very last day. My husband and I were in the ocean at our resort, our marriage just days old, where we danced in the water. Just as we were about to get out to end our trip, we passionaly proclaimed, “In this household, the honeymoon never ends.” 🥹✨💕

PRO TIPS ♥:

Explore in Beach Clothes + Cover Up Expect to swim and get wet on every excursion. Pack of small bag of dry clothes just in case and be prepared to jump in the water.

Buy a waterproof phone pouch It makes all the difference in capturing the moments even in the water!

Book with Breakfast Make sure you book a hotel the provides a daily breakfast (some you can add it onto your stay). It isn't the easiest finding breakfast off the resort. Lunch & Dinner can be out.

Make Memories w/ Forever People ❤️ This was my honeymoon but could just as easily be a very fun friends trip!
