WHY WE ♥ THE BAHAMAS:

The Bahamas is the perfect quick getaway and great for a girls or guys trip. The area to stay if you’re looking for a beachy dream is Paradise Island, an island off the shore of New Providence – home of the capital, Nassau.

You don’t need to do much planning to come to The Bahamas. I suggest a one day excursion on a boat to see the crystal-clear waters, the Exuma Cays (365 small islands), and pig island. Our group boat tour ended up being private for my party of three due to lack of bookings. We had an amazing time! The boat made several stops including swimming with sharks, snorkeling and sandbars. Other than one excursion, relax at your resort, explore your island and if you wish – visit Nassau.

A Candid Cost Calculation:

Accommodation – There are so many nice resorts on Paradise Island and the The Bahamas overall. We stayed at The Royal Atlantis and split the room with three girls. They have a great pool and pool park for kids and it is on the beach. If you can, getting a room with an ocean view is always nice!

Food – The famous NOBU chain was a fanciest place that we dined, which happened to be at our resort. It is not a must but a good excuse to get dressed up. The only must is going to a local fish fry. Some Caribbean islands have a fish fry weekly for both locals and tourists. They are a vibe with music and tons of food options between traditional restaurants and food trucks. The fish fry in the Bahamas is at Arawak Cay. Make sure to ask your hotel which night the fish fry is on, but you can go to the restaurants any night. Make sure to try Conch Salad (fish) and the local beer, Kalik.

Transportation – Walking + Taxi rides are the main modes of transportation. The boat tour ⛵️ will be your favorite!

Best of the Best – Swimming with sharks 🦈 and feeding the pigs 🐷 are experiences that will both spook you but bring your so much joy! Make sure your excursions include those two things!

Book a Boat Tour My favorite things to do in The Bahamas came from a full day trip that included a small plane ride and boat. Do not skip out on seeing the Exuma Cays!

Relax It is great to see the island, but make sure to schedule time to relax. This does not have to be a trip focused around exploration, but rather - relaxation. You should feel recharged after coming back from this trip.
